Building inspector supervision guidance

Assoc Update Building inspector supervision guidance-CREDIT-supplied

CABE has produced a Professional Information Note 100, Building Inspector Registration and Supervision, to offer members advice on how to prepare for building inspector registration with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

The deadline for registering is 6 April 2024 – the same date that new regulations come into force for the building control sector, restricting what professionals can do if they have been unable to register with the BSR in time. While registration won’t close on this date, and approved assessment schemes will continue, there will be a need to ensure legal compliance with the Building Safety Act for anyone not fully registered beyond 6 April.

Anticipating this, the Professional Information Note 100 also gives the Association’s view on putting appropriate supervisory measures in place to support both the individual and the employer over this period.
