Andrew Pearson takes a long, hard look at the progress of the Future Homes Standard to date and weighs up the different options.
The government wants all new homes in England to be built zero-carbon ready by 2025. It made a commitment in 2019 that within six years it would introduce a Future Homes Standard (FHS) for newbuild homes to be future-proofed with low-carbon heating and high levels of energy efficiency.
