For proper bonding of overlays and coatings to a concrete substrate, it is important that the surface of the concrete floor is properly prepared. Preparation of the surface is commonly known as profiling, and concrete surface profile (CSP) is a standardised measure for the roughness of a surface established by the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI).
