Meteorologists make it clear that, as a result of global warming in the UK, intense periods of rain will also be interspersed by longer periods of drought. We’ve heard a lot about ensuring better flood defences, including on new developments in flood plains. Yet we continue to think of excess stormwater as a waste product to be got rid of, rather than valued and saved.
