Great expectations
In an opinion piece for Talk.Build, CABE Vice President Jayne Hall notes that at 16 years old, children are asked to choose their subject options and, for many, stereotypes influence their choices: “They don’t want to be outnumbered or the only girl on a physics or technology course for example… Girls end up making unconscious assumptions but if you can engage them earlier to tackle these limiting and harmful gender stereotypes, it will encourage girls into the profession.”
