The National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin has had extensive refurbishment and modernisation of its historic wings on Merrion Square at a cost of €30m. The building also needed to meet today’s high fire safety and security standards, so required an updated fire safety plan with new security and fire-rated doorsets. Door Group, a unit of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland, supplied approximately 30 steel doorsets, including a mixture of LPS 1175 security rating and fire-rated glass, to the exacting requirements of the 150-year-old listed building.
