Blackpool and The Fylde College hosted a skills showcase event with local construction business Evolution after seeing the approach Managing Director JJ Fitzgerald took to providing people with opportunities.

Four students who had just completed their first year in Level 2 Plastering and Joinery showcased their skills in a workshop session held at the college’s Bispham Campus. As a result, two construction students have been given apprenticeships with Evolution.

Fitzgerald said: “We were blown away by the skills of all the students and were delighted to offer immediate apprenticeship opportunities. It was great to be able to see the impressive construction skills first-hand, and we are really grateful to the college for having the foresight to set up the showcase event and make it happen.”
