Carbon Counting

The climate emergency means that cuttings carbon emissions is a priority for all Building Engineers and construction professions. To help, the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), has launched a new Structural Carbon Tool. This excel version of the institution’s guide How to Calculate Embodied Carbon is free to download and has been developed by Elliott Wood in conjunction with the institution.
The development of the new tool will allow you to make quick calculations and compare the carbon emissions associated with your structural designs and make it easier to identify carbon hotspots.
