Consultations across the UK

The Scottish government has published the analysis of the responses to its consultation Building regulations – proposed review of fire safety topics: consultation.

This will help inform the Scottish government’s decisions on policy direction in response to the Cameron House Hotel recommendations and other aspects of Scottish Building Standards and fire safety regulation and guidance. Read the analysis at b.link/ScotGOV_proposedreview

Meanwhile, in England comments are being sought for ISO 9001 – Quality management systems – Requirements. Any comments will be submitted to the UK national committee QS/1/2 – Quality Management System Standards to help inform the UK’s position and national vote. Key proposed updates include changes to requirements, clearer structure and terminology for improved usability and clarification of requirements in Annex A.

Finally, the Welsh government is consulting on the impacts of changes to Building Regulations Part L (conservation of fuel and power). This consultation sets out plans to improve the energy efficiency requirements for new and existing dwellings and non-domestic buildings. This also includes changes to Part F (Ventilation) and Part O (Overheating) of the Building Regulations and associated Approved Document guidance.
