An Oxfordshire business that designs and builds ultra-low-carbon modular buildings has opened a new factory.

Green Unit, which started life producing eco-buildings in farm sheds, has found a new home in a converted hangar. Jonathan Finnerty, Managing Director of Green Unit, said the company now has six new production lines for its modular buildings, enabling up to 480m2 of them to be constructed off-site at a time. Mark Beard, Chair of co-investor Beard Construction, formally opened the factory. “Off-site and modular construction methods are being increasingly used in our industry, and so we could see a real opportunity for key learnings,” Mark said.
