Retrofit revolution

In addition to being awarded nearly £1m by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), the Retrofit Academy has opened its tenth training hub. Based in Hampshire and in partnership with SERT Training, it will supply contractors and housing providers in the region with the training for retrofit advisors, assessors and co-ordinators for upcoming programmes.
The Retrofit Academy’s licensing gives technical colleges and other further education centres access to resources and support, including a train the trainer programme, to deliver the nationally recognised retrofit training.
It has also announced the launch of the National Retrofit Conference co-located with Futurebuild 2024 on 5-7 March 2024. Over three days, speakers will address the challenge of retrofitting existing building stock, provide inspiration and practical advice to clients, contractors and the wider supply chain, and create the roadmap to revolutionise the approach to retrofitting.
