To mark International Women’s Day and to celebrate its 125th anniversary this year, Wates Group announced an initiative to bring 125 more women into the construction industry by 2025.

Working in partnership with Women into Construction, Wates will provide training and employment opportunities for women at all career stages, delivering four employment schemes over a two-year period, each targeting a different business area. It will also work with other partners, including STEM Returners and Young Women’s Trust, to improve gender balance within the construction sector, where women make up less than 15% of the workforce.
