Engineers Without Borders

Engineers Without Borders UK is proud to announce the appointment of Georgia Elliott-Smith as its incoming Chair. She is a distinguished environmental engineer and sustainability leader, who brings more than two decades of experience. She holds a BEng in Environmental Engineering and is a founding member of the environmental non-profit Fighting Dirty, alongside journalist George Monbiot. Her vision as Chair is to bridge the persistent gap between engineering education and professional practice.

She says: “Young people are passionate about the environment and making the world a better place, but that enthusiasm is often stifled once they enter the workplace.

“To find lasting solutions to challenges like climate change and social injustice, we must ensure responsible engineering practices are integrated from education through to employment.”
