December visit to Hong Kong

visit to Hong Kong.

In December 2025, CABE CEO Richard Harral paid a short visit to Hong Kong to connect with a number of different partners and organisations.

A Memorandum of Intent was signed between CABE and the Hong Kong Construction Industry Council (HKCIC) at the Centre for Future Construction within the Hong Kong Institute of Construction. This agreement will enable skilled workers who have passed the designated trade test at the HKCIC’s Hong Kong Construction Industry Trade Testing Centre to apply for CABE membership at Technician grade.

Harral was also present for another significant signing, that of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the CABE Hong Kong Chapter and the Hong Kong Institute of Project Management (HKIPM).

This MoU marks the beginning of further collaboration between CABE Hong Kong and HKIPM for the betterment of the region’s building and project management sectors.

Finally, on Harral’s agenda was a visit to the University of Built Environment (UBE) Asia Pacific office, alongside Hong Kong Chapter Chair Kyran Sze and Hong Kong Chapter General Manager Vivian Sie.

There is a thriving partnership between the Association and UBE in England, and this extends fully to UBE Asia Pacific, with students invited to apply for CABE Student membership.

The executive team looks forward to the annual CABE presidential visit to Hong Kong in spring 2026.
