NI fire safety reprint

Ireland’s Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has published a reprinted version of its Technical Guidance Document B 2024 – Fire Safety – Volume 1 – Buildings other than Dwelling Houses.

The Building Regulations 1997 to 2024 set out minimum standards for the design and construction of buildings and works to ensure the health and safety of people in and around such buildings. They are subject to ongoing review in the interests of safety and the wellbeing of persons in the built environment.

Following an editorial review of Technical Guidance Document B 2024 Fire Safety – Volume 1 – Buildings Other Than Dwelling Houses dated March 2024, the department has published a reprinted Technical Guidance Document dated January 2026, which incorporates some minor corrections and clarifications. A list of all changes is provided within the reprinted edition. The changes made do not amend any of the technical provisions contained in the 2024 version and can therefore apply with immediate effect.
