Obituary - John Humphries PPBEng CEnv FCABE

It is with sadness that I announce the passing of John Humphries, Past President of the Association from 2012-2013.

John’s career spanned more than 40 years, including 28 years at the London Borough of Brent, where he will be remembered by many as Head of Building Control. He was passionate for his profession and believed that his team should strive to be the best to deliver the highest possible standards.

As well as being an active member of CABE, he was involved with the London District Surveyors’ Association and Local Authority Building Control.

I had the honour to work alongside John both as an ABE Board Member and then when he was President of the Association around ten years ago. John was an exemplary member of the Association and a lovely man, who could always be relied upon to give his time and knowledge for the benefit and progression of the Association.

He will be sadly missed, and my thoughts are with his family and friends.
