Northern Ireland consults on energy efficiency in new builds

Northern Ireland’s Department of Finance has launched a consultation on proposed increases in energy efficiency standards for new buildings.

The proposals are the first part of an ambitious programme that will include further increases in energy efficiency requirements as well as steps to address standards on ventilation and overheating. The launch saw Finance Minister Conor Murphy visiting a Passivhaus in Crawfordsburn to see first-hand how efficiency measures can help improve the energy performance of buildings.
