Fire exit
The safe evacuation of a building’s occupants is the fundamental objective that all other aspects of fire safety are put in place to achieve. The aim is simple: to enable occupants to move away from a fire and to a place of safety at the exterior of the building. This can be through their own efforts or with the assistance of other building occupants; but it shouldn’t be the responsibility of the Fire Service.
