High-rise fires

A week before publication of the final Grenfell report, two fires were reported on multistorey residential buildings in east London.
70 firefighters spent more than an hour tackling a blaze at a 45-storey block of flats in Blackwall, while 225 firefighters had been deployed to a seven-story block in Dagenham the previous day. There were no fatalities. The Dagenham flats were undergoing remedial work to remove and replace “non-compliant cladding”.
