CABE HQ staff have been logging their miles all year to cover the equivalent distance between Lutyens House in Northampton and the Hong Kong office in Kowloon – approximately 6,000 miles!

In July, CABE Hong Kong Chair Kyran Sze and Dr Paul Hampton, Head of the School of Architecture and the Built Environment, University of Wolverhampton, met in Hong Kong to exchange updates on the university’s course development in Hong Kong.
As part of the 2025 centenary celebrations, CABE commissioned a local video production company to develop two brand new animations – a first for the Association.
On 12 September – the 100th anniversary of CABE’s inception to the day – the Association held a very special celebration at Stanbrook Abbey in Worcester.

The CABE Building Inspector Competence Assessment Scheme (CBICAS) revalidation process for certification has been approved by the Building Safety Regulator.
Earlier this year, CABE surveyed members on what they thought about Building Engineer and its online equivalent buildingengineer.org.uk in order to maintain high standards and incorporate members’ views.
Last year, Building Surveying student Liam Nolan achieved the CABE Best Final Year Student Award. This year, he achieved his RICS Assessment of Professional Competence.

CABE Hong Kong Chapter Chair Kyran Sze visited the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwai Chung) and Hong Kong College of Technology in June 2025 and was inspired by the vision demonstrated by the emerging generation of built environment professionals from these two schools.
