How ethical is the engineering profession?

The Royal Academy of Engineering has launched an ethics survey to hear the views of UK-based engineers and technicians on behaviours and motivations in the workplace, and CABE is encouraging its members to get involved.

The survey, which can be completed anonymously, includes questions about:

  • your own behaviours and motivations
  • how your workplace affects your behaviours and motivations
  • the values and behaviours that in practice seem important in your workplace.

This audit is part of the work coming from the new report Engineering Ethics: Maintaining society’s trust in the engineering. By taking part, you’ll be contributing to an unprecedented benchmark for views on engineering ethics.

The results will inform many activities from the Academy in the coming months and years as it works to ensure that ethical culture and practice become embedded in the engineering profession.

The survey, which closes on 31 May, is available here.
